![]() recycled hand-dyed yarn knit kits! all knit kits include the pattern(s) and yarn that was unraveled from old clothing or bought second-hand, and acid dyed with food coloring and/or kool-aid. the yarn should be kindly treated like any wool, hand-washed in cold water. about pdfs: all pattern sets (except for the tiny bracelet pattern) come in pdf versions. this is your only option for the patterns by themselves (not in kits), and you have the choice to get a pdf instead of paper with the kits. if the kit is a gift, definitely go for the paper, but if it's for yourself, i recommend getting the pdf. not only will it will save paper and ink for me, but you will get it faster (like right away) and the pdfs have some extra photos and possibly a little extra information that the paper pattern sets don't have room for. and in case you need more details - a pdf is a computer file that you can view on your screen, or print out at home. you can choose to only print the page with the pattern you are working on, thus saving paper. spiraling stripes hat kits with these kits, you will get enough yarn for 1 hat (90 yards), dyed specifically to make the stripy spirals, two stitch markers, and a pattern set which includes 6 different hat options - wide straight brim, slanting brim, and no brim, each with spiraling clockwise and counter-clockwise versions. you will just need a pair of size us 9 knitting needles and a tapestry needle. for more details, or to share your finished hats, see the accompanying blog post! yarn alone is $4 less than the kit. the pattern set pdf alone ($4.50) can be found after the kits. ![]() (sorry, no kits in stock at the moment) ![]() spiraling stripes hat pattern set pdf if you're not into any of the yarn, you can get the pattern set pdf a la carte. there are 6 different patterns which will use about 90 yards of yarn each. the patterns will work with any self-striping yarn, or you could try variegated for a different look. the set also includes instructions for the cast on and off methods, sizing info, and more. $4.50

![]() cotton candy 2-color textured hat kit coming from an unraveled super soft, baby blue sweater with a worn-blank tag, this fuzzy unknown fiber-blend yarn was then dyed purpley pink and bluey purple. (i'm guessing it's part wool, part acrylic)
![]() chocolately merino 2-color textured hat kit #2 an attempt to recreate my first 2-tone merino, this one has a bit less contrast between the 2 shades, so it will make a very subtle color pattern. unraveled from a j.crew sweater, this soft brown yarn is two shades - chocolate and dark chocolate. the sweater was knit double stranded, so the strands are meant to stay together. 100% merino wool.

![]() random order blues and greens knit mitts kit unraveled from an italian sweater, this wool is on the bulky side, so it'll make nice thick mitts. it's dyed to stripe randomly between 5 shades of greens and blues, like the asymmetrical example pictured. 100% wool SOLD ![]() green tea cream knit mitts kit striping evenly between a soft light green and creamy orange, this recycled sweater yarn will make a super soft, comfy pair of mitts. 30% silk, 26% wool, 26% acrylic, 18% nylon.
![]() honeydew and cantaloup knit mitts kit this yarn has random clumps of colors - shades of green, orange, blue, and yellow, dyed lightly over a natural wool. recycled from an untagged (handknit?) sweater, the exact fiber content is unknown, but it's suspected to be a wool blend. the mitts will be randomly multi-colored, like the middle example pictured.
